So today’s recipe is one of my all time favorites: Pizza Lasagna!
It’s basically like regular lasagna, but you use a pepperoni layer.
I’m also gonna share with you guys my super awesome sauce recipe. You can pretty much use it for anything you need pasta sauce for, not just Lasagna.
So without further ado… bring on the recipe!
The first thing you want to do is make up your pasta sauce:
3 14-16oz cans Basil Garlic Diced Tomatoes
2 14-16oz cans Plain Diced Tomatoes
2 cans mushrooms
l Large Onion, finely chopped
1 tsp. Accent salt
Salt to taste
1/8 tsp. Cayenne Pepper
1 tbsp Basil leaves
1 tbsp Butter
1/2 tsp Lemon Juice
1/4 cup Parmesan Cheese
*Optional* 1lb Ground Italian Sausage
In a lerge pan melt butter and then add the chopped onion and sauté until tender.
in another pan put in sausage and a bit of water and cook it until its done. Mix well, and drain off liquid.(skip this step if you aren’t using sausage)
Put sausage back in pan and brown for about 5 mins, until its lightly brown.
Add tomatoes, mushrooms, and all of the seasonings to the onion/butter mixture. (add meat)
heat on medium high until boiling, stir frequently. Reduce heat to summer for 15-20 mins.
TIP: Make up a lot, can it or store it in some way, so you can use in multiple things without making a lot of batches of pasta sauce.
Once you have the sauce made up, add a little bit of cottage cheese to it to get ready for the lasagna!
Spread a good layer of sauce on the bottom of your dish, and layer some pepperoni on top.
After that place a generous layer of cheese on top, and then some lasagna noodles.
Repeat these steps until your dish is full.
Once its full, add a nice thick later of cheese on top
Bake on 350 degrees for about 1 hour and 45 mins or until your noodles are nice and tender.
Voila! There you have it!
Here are the ingredients I used for the Lasagna itself:
1 package mozzarella shredded cheese
1 package mixed cheese( I usually use the colby mix)
1 small container cottage cheese
1 package of Pepperoni
1 package Oven Ready Lasagna noodles
