Hey guys! I love cooking things in the crockpot because its simple and especially nice if you have a busy lifestyle, have to work, or if you’re like me and just have school, its good too. I really don’t know why people don’t use their crockpot more often, its pretty amazing and can save you a lot of time slaving over the hot stove and such. So because I love crockpots so much I’m gonna share my recipe for Herb Chicken, roasted in the crockpot.
First, you need chicken, you can use any cut of chicken really, for this photo I used 1 whole chicken, just put straight into the crockpot.
Ingredients(other than chicken)
1/2 bunch of fresh Rosemary
1/2 bunch of fresh Sage
1/2 bunch of fresh Thyme
1 Stick of Butter
2 tablespoons of salt
Pinch of Pepper
First you want to put you chicken in the crockpot, it doesn’t really matter how you put it in, just as long as there’s plenty of room. Then get out your ingredients and chop the Rosemary, Sage, and Thyme. I put my herbs in the food processor so that they wouldn’t be quite as whole and leafy and they would be if you just chopped them, but It’s your own preference really. After you chopped your herbs, add them, the butter, salt, and pepper on top of the chicken. Make sure to kind of spread it around the chicken, and not just have it in one spot so you can get a nice even flavoring. Set your crockpot to the temperature that you want. I did mine on low, and let it cook overnight, but if you want to get it done faster set it on medium/high for a couple of hours. You can even set it to cook while you go to work or something and when you come home it’ll be ready to eat. Once your chicken is falling off the bone done, eat it! I served mine with mashed potatoes and fresh green beans.
