There’s nothing like a hot bowl of oatmeal to eat on a winter morning. Oatmeal is a serious breakfast staple since it’s inexpensive, easy to make, and is really healthy for you (since it helps your heart and lowers your cholesterol). It’s an all around good food. The great thing about oatmeal is you can put in different ingredients and get experimental, and it still turns out good.

The warmth and sweetness of this one satisfies my sweet tooth and fills me up. I already love cranberry sauce, and when I add the pomegranate it adds a nice crunch and flavor.

Here’s what you need:

First off, I took the cranberry sauce I made before Thanksgiving and put pomegranate seeds in it.
1/4 to 1/2 a cup of oatmeal
1 tablespoon of cinnamon
1/2 a cup of milk
2 tablespoons of brown sugar
A few spoonfuls of cranberry sauce

Mix the cinnamon and oats in a bowl, then add the milk. Microwave for a minute. Once the oats are done put in the sugar, and cranberry sauce and more milk (optional), and mix well.

That’s it! You have a simple and delicious breakfast to have. You can also make this with vanilla soy-milk to have less brown sugar and makes the oats taste like a cinnamon roll. I kid you not!

Cranberry & Pomegranate Oatmeal

Ingredients
