Making Monkey Bread has kind have been a family tradition in our household. I’ve been making it ever since I was a little girl, baking with my grandma. I used to love making it because I could get my hands dirty, and it was so fun smooshing the dough into the pan. It was the best, man!
This recipe is the very same that me and my grandma used back then, and still use today. It’s really simple, fun to make, and OH SO YUMMY! Sara and I decided to take it and make it our own by using our Winton Mini Bundt cake pan, to make Mini Monkey Bread! The recipe is the same, but by changing the pan, we ended up with some adorable mini breads. These minis would be a great thing to bring to a holiday party, or even to put in festive boxes/baggies and give as Christmas gifts!
Here’s what you’ll need:
1 Cup of Sugar
2 Tbsp of Cinnamon
4 pack of small Pillsbury Homestyle Biscuits (you can use any brand, but we love Pillsbury)
1 Cup of Pecans (chopped)
2/3 cup Butter
1 Cup Brown Sugar
To prep your Monkey Bread making, first preheat your oven to 350 degrees, and grease your mini bundt pan(or you can use a regular bundt pan). While your oven is heating up, you can start on the recipe! In a bowl, mix white sugar with only 1 tsp. of cinnamon. Open 2 cans of biscuits, and cut each biscuit into 4 pieces. We found the easiest way to do this, is just use your scissors (after washing them first!).
Then roll the pieces into the brown sugar. Layer in the min bundt cake pan. After you have your first layer, sprinkle in some of the pecans. Repeat the same steps until each section is full. Make sure to pack the pieces in pretty tightly, so that it will hold its shape after it’s baked. Once they’re all packed in, you want to prepare your glaze.
For the glaze, melt the butter and add brown sugar, and the other Tbsp of cinnamon. Pour a little bit of this mixture onto each mini bundt before putting in the oven. Once that’s done, you can stick them in the oven for 10-15 minutes, and let them bake.
Once they’re done, remove them and eat! You can also put these in little festive bags and give them out as Christmas gifts as well.
No matter what you decide to do with these Mini Monkey Breads, they are guaranteed to be delicious!!

Thye look cute and yummy, and really quite easy to make.
For sure!
I love monkey bread, but never make it because it’s so sticky and messy! Your smaller size sounds like it will eliminate that, though, so now I have to try these 🙂
Ummm its still a bit mess on your fingers, but yes not as bad as the full size. Still, it’s like my grandma always says, if it’s messy, that just means its good. 🙂
These look and sound delicious, I’m saving this recipe to make in the coming week 🙂 I love your idea of giving them as gifts x
Yeah, I love giving some as coworker gifts. Everyone loves tasty treats! I hope you & your family enjoy the recipe 🙂
Pinning this for later! I have never made monkey bread before but this looks like it would be a perfect dish for Christmas morning while the monkeys are opening all of their gifts.
I agree! It’s super easy too 😉 I hope you enjoy!
These look absolutely delicious. I bet that kids love them because of the size!
Yup they do!

This monkey bread looks so yummy! I might have to convince the hubby to make some for us Christmas morning!
you should!
I’d never heard of monkey bread till I moved to the US and I haven’t tried it. I need to find a vegan version STAT!
For sure! Just find yourself some vegan biscuits etc
🙂
I love the look of monkey bread, I have never heard of it before but it is such a neat idea! How long have you been making these for,
Well, since I’ve been a little kid. My grandma always made it. So yeah a long time ha
I love any type of mini foods so I’m surprised I’ve never tried this! I loved monkey bread, it was one of my favorite things as a child!
Just made a monkey bread last week and ended up wasting a lot of it because we were busy with family and not at home. I really love the idea of of making mini ones as they are the perfect amount. These look delish!
Yeah the normal sized does tend to get wasted or dry out. This is much better, especially for the kids 😉
I need this miniature recipe! When I make the big dish I can never just eat one! Pinning it!
this is awesome. going to save and make for the family, they will love it
This is a fantastic idea! And perhaps then I would be able to stay at just one serving rather than half the pan!
LOL I know right. So tempting
Those look SO SO delicious! My family would love this, definitely will try this! XO

Yum! Thanks for sharing at My Flagstaff Home!
Jennifer
Wow! You make this look so easy! I’ve always wondered how this was done. Thanks for sharing..I’ll try it!
Yay I hope it goes well! It’s pretty easy, it just looks complicated when its done. 😉
Can I just use a muffin pan? I don’t have a mini bundt pan, as much as I’d love one. And also, can this be done with out any nuts and will it still be delicious? No nuts either right now but want to make them.
Yes! Or you can use a full size Bundt pan. Yes! You can totally leave out the nuts, we just love them in it. You could add raisins instead, or nothing it at all. It will still taste really good.
Hi, Just made the mini monkey bread in my mini bundt pan. They came out totally burnt and all the sugar coating on the top spread out on the bundt pan and burnt also. Is the 40 minutes a misprint in time cooking? They were not edible at all. Would love to try again but not sure on the time to bake. Also, did you have 2 layers of about 4 dough in each layer? My pan looked just like yours when stuffed. Then I put the coating on top.
Hey Alissa! Sorry you’re having issues making this. Yes it’s a misprint I didn’t even realize. When I wrote it I was writing my full monkey bread recipe – in a large bundt pan, which is 40 mins. The mini’s are more like 10-15mins. If you’re nervous about the time or them getting too done, I would go 10 mins, then give them a look see. Yeah no do not put the coating on top. We did a layer of the dough, then a layer of the coating, then another layer of the dough, otherwise it will be way too messy. So it should go, dough, coating, pecans, dough.
Let me know how it goes! Sorry about that misprint on the time. Like I said for whatever reason I was copying my full size time without thinking. 🙁
I love monkey bread and these look good! Will they help with portion control? 🙂 Please come to Family Joy Blog Link-up tomorrow and share them! Visit at http://www.pursueyourproject.com.
Haha! Maybe if you only eat one 😉
I’m so going to try this, thanks! Pinned!
No problem Tara! Enjoy!
