Ok, so we’re not really headed to Thailand, but it totally felt like it when we got our new Try The World box. You guys know how excited we are to try new recipes and foods, especially from around the world. That’s why we love getting our Try The World
box! This months theme was Thailand, which had lots of Thai foods and recipes included. We loved that this box was curated by Jet Tila, who is definitely one of our favorite judges on Cutthroat Kitchen! #Swoon. This box had one of the best culture guides we’ve had. It included a great “24 Hours in Thailand” recipe guide that set out dishes for you to make to really get into the Thai experience with every meal. See how you can save 15% off a regular subscription, or store items at the end of this post!
We decided to follow this guide, and make 2 of the dishes using our items from the box. The first one we did wasn’t really a dish, but it was a delicious Thai Iced Tea. We’d never made a tea like this before, so it was an adventure for sure. It was really sweet with the Coconut Flower Syrup, Loose Leaf Thai Iced Tea, and creamy because of the Almond milk we added. The best thing about it is, you can drink it cold, or hot, either way its totally amazing. Sara is definitely a huge fan. You can check out the full recipe and see how we made it in the video below.
We also made some Jasberry Rice Pudding for a dessert. We used the block of Jasberry Rice that we got from our box, along with the Coconut Flower Syrup, and fresh fruit to make this wonderful dish. If you like rice pudding this would be really great for you. the syrup makes it so sweet, and the Jasberry Rice is healthier than regular rice, since it has 3x’s the antioxidants. It also has a wonderful smell when its cooking that just really sets your mouth watering.
To make yourself some of the Jasberry Rice Pudding, you’ll need a few ingredients:
1 Block Jasberry Rice
1 Tbsp. Coconut Flower Syrup
1/2 tsp. Salt
1 can of Coconut Milk
1/2 cup Brown Sugar
Kiwi for garnish (or any fruit you wish)
The first thing you need to do is, wash your rice thoroughly. Then bring the rice, salt, and 3 1/2 cups of water to a boil. Then cover your pot and let it simmer for 35 mins. After 35 mins, stir in your coconut milk, sugar, and coconut flower syrup and let simmer. Stir occasionally for about 20 mins.
Cool & Serve! Super easy, right?! You can have this with your Thai Iced Tea, or just eat it by itself. It’s awesome just about any way.
So with these few recipes we really felt like we were able to get the full Thai experience. Plus there’s so much more included in the box, so we’ll definitely be busy for a little while. We definitely love Try the World, and we love our boxes. We think its a great idea for all of you foodies out there who love to try new things and create new and exciting dishes. It’s also so structured that even if you don’t consider yourself a good cook, you can still enjoy it with their step by step recipes. Plus with all of the great information included about each country it would be a great teaching tool if you had kids. You can make some dishes from around the world, turn on the Try the World Playlist, and let them discover something new and awesome! You can also get 15% off of a regular subscription, shop item, or gift boxes with our code “PerfectStorm15”!

Oh awesome! We never got to try the Japan box, but we loved all of their other boxes. 🙂
How fun! Random but when I first got married and wanted to learn how to cook I took a few cooking classes from Jet, and now he’s all big and famous, so cool! He is such a nice guy and was super fun and informative to take a few classes with him! And this box is pretty amazing.

We hadn’t either actually, so it was an adventure for us! lol
I’ve been seeing more of Try the World posts and now you all have me wanting to give it a try. I’m going to wait a little while longer though to see what else will be coming but I would have loved to get a Thailand box.
Yeah we’ve gotten several of their boxes. they’re really taking peoples feedback and improving them each box. You can get the Thailand one through the end of February. They’re announcing what the next country will be on Feb 25th :O

Yeah same here, there are none around me. I hadn’t even tried Thai food before at all. You would probably like this one, you can prepare Tom Yum, Jasberry Rice and other things yourself.
