*We received a complimentary spring box from Mary’s Secret Ingredients. All opinions & views are our own.
Hey guys! Today we’re gonna share with you a little about a new subscription box we’re loving called the Mary’s Secret Ingredients Box! Mary’s Secret Ingredients has always been founded on a love of food and a cause to end world hunger. They strive to do both while bringing you a great box full of culinary awesomeness to inspire your cooking every season. Every season (spring, summer, fall, & winter) is filled with great items and tools to help you cook great meals for your families. Your subscription also comes with recipes hand tested from Mary’s kitchen emailed to you, so you can get inspired to cook up a storm – a perfect storm that is ;)!
This is our first box from them and it is the Spring 2016 box! It was full of great goodies, not to mention our favorite thing, the kitchen tool! Some of the items that we got were the The Tea Spot Meditative Mind Sachets, Savory Choice Veggie Authentic Pho, Just Jans Tangerine Marmalade, Sir Kensington’s Dijonaise, and the Rocker 100 Stainless Steel Garlic Crusher. So it’s a really great balance of items. There’s a drink, meal, spread for breakfast or dessert, a condiment, and a really great kitchen tool.
The best part about Mary’s Secret Ingredients is they love to give back and support Feed the Children in their fight to end hunger. Plus, in this Spring box, we got a little something extra with the 100 cups a day tea/sake cup. These handmade cups help you value your water and its important. Their organization also advocates for clean water in Mexico, which we think is a very good cause. Mary’s Secret Ingredients also did a special thing this month where they had members only, golden ticket giveaway; where 10 winners got a Joseph Joseph Elevate knife. So not only do they love giving to great causes, they love giving to their subscribers as well. So much that they gave us a code, so you guys can get 25% off of a purchase – at the bottom of this post!
We also really loved the garlic crusher. We LOVE garlic and use it all of the time, so this will for sure come in handy at our houses. Plus it’s stainless steel and definitely not cheaply made, so it can really last while we’re crushing those mountains of garlic cloves!
To show you guys an easy way to use the box we decided to put together a little recipe for BLT Grilled Cheese using the Sir Kensington Dijonaise. This is a great recipe for a nice lunch, especially with the awesome summer produce coming in season. Plus we think that we’ll be using a lot of the dijonaise, it’s really good on sandwiches for sure!
For this recipe you’ll only need a few ingredients:
Bacon (4-6 slices)
Sir Kensington’s Dijonaise
The first thing that you need to do is fry your bacon up, then put it on top of your bread slices. Add on a slice of the Havarti Cheese. Then layer on the tomato, and lettuce. Lastly, add the dijonaise to the opposite slice of bread. Feel free to mix it with regular mayo, if you’d like. We did that and it turned out extra awesome.
Once your BLT is ready, stick it in the toaster oven for about 5 minutes, or until toasted just the way you like. That’s it, it’s totally really simple, and easy to make for your whole family.
We hope you’ve enjoyed learning a little bit more about Mary’s Secret Ingredients as much as we’ve enjoyed using the box! It’s a really great service that not only gives you great food items, but also shows you how to use them, and how you can give back as well. Here’s our code that will get you 25% off of a purchase. Just use “bff25” at checkout.
