Valentine’s Day is soon upon us, so I decided to make my Wearable Wednesday look this week more of a Valentine’s Date Look. I love this outfit because its comfortable, semi casual (so great for a lunch date) and feminine.
I normally wouldn’t immediately go for a sweater when styling a date look, but for the current weather we’re having here in Ohio it was a must. I feel like this time of year it can always be hit or miss on the temperature. One day it will be 60, the next, snowing. So when you’re prepping for your date, you want to be aware of how cold it’s going to be. I will also give a tip and say, wear leggings if you’re gonna go for a longer skirt or dress I did that here and you can’t even tell. Just by having that extra layer under the skirt I could keep from freezing my booty off.
By wrapping this look up with a pretty pink pleated skirt I took the heart sweater from super casual to dressed up. I also wore my favorite striped flats with this to match the stripes and color in the sweater. You could also pair this with heels as well. Finish off with some feminine accessories, and you have a great day date look that you wont freeze to death wearing!

Our featured look with this week is The Fab 40’s in Leather and Lace by Jennie over at A Pocketful of Polka Dots! I love her look because it’s fierce, but very business appropriate. I really like her blog in general and highly recommend her for fabulous looks for women in their 40’s or over. Heck, even I would wear the heck out of those leather pants!

What I really love about this sweater, Hannah, is that it’s not the red or pink that we think about at V-Day!!
And pairing it with that fabulous skirt & striped shoes is so perfect!!

Great link-up, thanks for hosting. I love your skirt – it’s super cute and feminine.
However, I thought really long about writing this and I absolutely don’t want to be mean girl…but I’m really worried about you. You don’t look healthy anymore. Being curvy is totally okay, but don’t you think loosing a few pounds would make your life a little easier and healthier? I don’t want to make you sad or anything please believe me. I just don’t like this typical blogger sugarcoating and want to be honest with you.
I wish you a wonderful weekend ♡Kristina

Hey Kristina! No, I totally understand. I’m not offended. Yeah I totally agree that losing a few pounds would make my life easier as far as clothes go etc. Healthier? Sure it would, but I have no health problems, minus PCOS. In fact, in my doctor visit last week I lost 30lbs and still have no high blood pressure, sugar issues, or anything. That being said there’s no guarantee I won’t have any in the future, but that’s why I get regular check ups etc. I’m obese and I know that, without it having to be pointed out to me. I know I am making my body work harder in general. I totally get your concern and its well founded. I really appreciate it. For me, after trying to lose weight pretty much my whole life, and not really succeeding, it’s been important for me to just love myself for who I am whether I am obese or not. That’s just kind of where I am right now. Losing weight is a constant struggle for me, but believe me its something I know about and am working on.
Hello Hannah,
thanks for replying. I’m happy to hear that you have constant medical check-ups and that everything is fine 🙂 You are so right, the most important thing is to love yourself and I think you can be a rolemodel for many struggling with the same problem.
Have a wonderful Sunday ♡Kristina
