We’re always looking for new ways to DIY our life and home. This week we decided to give a little face lift to some old earrings Sara had and show you how to do a DIY Sparkle Earring. These looked pretty boring, and they definitely needed some pizazz! We were very inspired by these Kate Spade sparkle stud earrings, and decided to make our own version using some glitter nail polish.
This is a great idea to use on your regular studded earrings as well. The only difference is that you will need to remove it from the set. Since the earrings we used aren’t made in a setting, we didn’t do that.
The only things you’ll need for this project are some old stud earrings you want to use, glitter nail polish of your choosing, and makeup sponges
To start brush a small coat of the glitter nail polish on your stud. Once you have your base coat, you can start adding the sparkle layers.
To do this, paint a little of the sparkle polish on the makeup sponge, then gently dab it on the earring. Basically so that the sparkles are transferred without having to use a bunch of layers of nail polish. Keep doing this until you have the amount of coverage you want on your earrings. You can also add a clear coat to seal it, but we didn’t. Simply let dry, and you’re done! We also did a Facebook Live showing how easy it is to make these.
Now you have a gorgeous pair of studded earrings using some you probably already had. We’re excited to transform more of our stud earrings soon!

What a brilliant idea. I accidently allowed my holes to close up which saddens me lots! I just stopped wearing earrings when I had Zach! Thanks for linking up with #TwinklyTuesday
Oh nuuu! I had them close up before too, but regretted it and got them redone. I love all the pretty earrings too much. Thanks for hosting!
